Firmware updates often include patches that optimize CPU and RAM usage, making your TV menus transition faster and reducing boot times.
For maximum convenience, you can enable automatic updates. This allows your TV to download and install new software while it's in standby mode (turned "off" but still plugged in), ensuring you always have the latest version without any effort.
The download is typically a compressed folder (ZIP or RAR). Extract the file on your computer. You will look for a file named something like update.img or upgrade.bin .
Keeping your TV connected to home Wi-Fi exposes it to network vulnerabilities. Firmware patches update security certificates to keep your data safe.
Power cycle the television by unplugging the power cord for two minutes, then plug it back in.
Download the update file (usually named update.img or zipped). If zipped, extract it. Copy the raw update file directly to the root directory of your USB drive (do not put it inside a folder).
Release the buttons when the Android recovery menu or the reset screen appears.
