On a standard iPhone, apps are distributed exclusively through Apple’s App Store using IPA files. However, you can also take an IPA file from another source and manually “side-load” it onto your device. This is the exact process you’ll be using to get CS 1.6 onto your iOS device. While this method bypasses the App Store, it does not require you to break the phone’s security (jailbreak), keeping your device much safer than older, more invasive methods.

Open AltStore on your device, navigate to the "My Apps" tab, tap the "+" icon, and select the downloaded IPA.

A more plausible future: (Xbox Cloud, GeForce NOW) streaming CS:GO or CS2 to iOS via Safari. But that requires a constant high-speed connection and introduces input lag—far from the raw, local-play charm of CS 1.6.

Method 1: Sideloading via AltStore or SideStore (Recommended)

The most direct method to run CS 1.6 on an iPhone or iPad is to sideload an through a process called sideloading .
